Haven't used the som1, but assuming speakers CAN safely be switched
on/off
by a relay I would of thought this would work.

Might try this with the viom myself for the announcement speakers when I
can
get around to it. I've also just ordered a swish curtain controller
which
I'm hoping I can somehow use the input(s) on the viom to detect if the
curtains are open or closed with a micro switch or something.

Don't know of anyway of controlling speaker volume, but I'm sure someone
on
the group must have done or tried it though ;-)
