I'd suggest it's a matter of space in the box more than anything else.

The only units I have a 'problem' with are the RGB ones as getting 
audio fed too involves making up custom cables - or, as is currently 
happening, Keith is making me a custom pair of RGB units with Stereo 
L+R out on them to feed to a second KAT 5 unit, so basically:

SKY BOX -> RGB TX unit ----CAT5-------> RGB RX Unit--> TiVo
            
\-Audio TX Unit -- CAT5--> Audio RX-/

So the TiVo receives RGB video and stereo audio.  Not ideal, but 
better than messing around with custom cables.......
