As per my message last week that is exactly what I intend to do with
my ePODs, wall mount them but allow them to be removed for hand held
use.

As for 'both' being a cop out, I will want wall mounted in some rooms
and hand held in others. Hand held is ideal for 'traditional' remote
control operations like changing channels or volume, and
for 'enhanced' remote control operations like browsing through a
movie catalogue to select a film. However wall mounted is good for
more general room control like lighting, heating, air con and back
ground audio.
