Ian I don't know the implications of this but
Would it be a big job to add some sort of wired
Switching terminals on interface. This will enable
A user to switch the relay manually as well
As with the pc ?

At the moment I am thinking of giving the boards both interfaces but
only
populating one or the other. That way either could be used but not both.
I
would favour a converter at the moment as only one would be needed.
Still
thinking about that one though. Do the SOM1 boards do the serial to 485
conversion or as above just have both interfaces, anyone know?

Thanks

Ian
