      When I was designing my relay board I initially used reed relays which had some problems with things like capacitive loads, AC etc. The relays on the SOM1 look very similar so you may be experiencing similar problems. Check the relays are actually switching off somehow with the speakers connected and showing the problems. Alternatively use one of my boards <grin> which are rated up to 120v AC and everything else you can think of.

                  Loudspeakers use an AC signal, not DC. There is no concept of a
                  common ground, so you can't switch it that way.
