it is just one ribbon lead from the controller to the harddrive
section.
it would be nice to get my data back as i don't have all the data backed up
:-(

      To be honest it will not be cost effective
to repair unless there is critical data on it. By cost effective I mean
lots of money vs. seventy quid for a new one. No doubt you have a backup?

      If you are planning to buy a drive and swap
the boards to recover it I wish you the best of luck. This is not something
I would have a go at.

      Rip 3 components off the main board on my
Deskstar 75GXP 46.11gb harddrive.
           
       
           
      Can anyone of you electronics boffins help
