The pzm11LL are fine and are balanced.
I can confirm that so fine for long runs.
I have not really tried them out yet
but will do thie weekend and give you more
info. On the bulk buy side of things
so far I do not have enough orders to
be credible of a bulk buy. So I can give you
the guy who sold me mines number and
you can speak with him direct if you like.
I maybe selling 3 of mine as I maybe moving soon.
But i will give you full details on the weekend.
with the pzm 11ll you can use phantom power
(from a desk) or use an external power adapter.

11LL
I am interested in some. Maybe a bulk
buy?
Apart from mic cable, do I need any cable
for power supply?
Paul says that PZM11 are better for longer
runs, so how long are longer runs?
Please keep us posted Amar and let us know
which ones are better LL or not.
Also, what are the other implications, what
kind of mixer can be used.
Paul bought one from Shure, and that was
very expensive.
Can I use just one, without mixer, for a
start, and connect it to mic input on sound card in node 0?
That phantom power probably cannot be
provided by PC sound card.
Please put some more light on this.
Cheers,
Nik

[ukha_d] Re: Crown PZM 11LL
it is the LL
version
I have spoke
to guy to see if can get anymore as i have bought the only 4 he had.
he will get
back to me. He said i can check them out and if i am not satisfied
the he will
take them back.
From the
reports i here in US the LL version is the better mic for VR. But i
will
put that to
the test when i get them. I am sure from looking at the spec they are
balanced.

Is the LL version what you really want?
There are two versions - PZM
11 and PZM11LL. The LL version is a LINE
LEVEL out variant (i.e. not
balanced XLR type). The PZM11 (balanced out)
would be more suitable
for longer cable runs I think (and a lot
less suceptable to
interference and noise). Both are capable of
being powered by
Phantom Power although the LL offers an
AC/DC supply input as well
(LL needs resistor mod to take phantom
power).
I bought 8 of the PZM11's and checked around
a number of suppliers,
the best price was around £70 each inc
VAT.
The UK List price was £93 for the PZM11 and
£126 for the PZM11LL.
If Amar can really get the LL version for
£50+VAT, that's a really
good deal. May be worth checking it is the
LL version though.
Paul.
