So, having not followed the xAP thread completely, I have BOTH my meteor
and
VFD plugged into COM ports (does the VFD do this out of the box??) the a
xAP
input plugin talks to the meteor, which does the smart stuff the sends
the
required info to the output plugin??

If I am correct in the above, I would probably be interested in at least
one
of the VFD displays.

What you need is xAP ..... and someone to write the output plugin for
this display.
Or someone to write the code to conver the callerID info into a screen
for the display, the display itself talks RS232.
