Of course you are both wrong. When spending that sort of money, you should find yourself a second hand Meridian processor and couple it with a 5ch (or more) power amp.

Apart from the following:

1) I generally dislike the way Pioneer amplifiers sound.
2) I generally dislike Pioneers user interfaces.
3) The Denon gives two additional multi room zones.
4) The Denon is upgradeable in both hardware and software.
5) Denon will give (and have given) me the RS232 control specs whereas
Pioneer won't.
