Spent the afternoon meddling with some electronics, and am very
pleased with the results.

I can now select, under software control, one of four video sources
using a couple of quids worth of components (basically 1 chip [4066
analogue switch] + suitable connectors and power supply) connected to
the PC's parallel port. The same technology could also be used to
switch line-level signals, perhaps for zoned announcements. It's not
hi-fi quality of course, but absolutely fine for CCTV.

A writeup & circuit diagram will follow on the website when I get a
chance.

PS. And it's xAP enabled so it can be readily remote controlled :-)
