Ken,

In my case, as I said, dimming is not strictly required so not a problem in
that sense - and hey, the guy asked for ideas and I gave him some!
I know I've got about a snowballs chance in hell, but if you don't try, you
_definitely_ won't get anywhere :-)

Status response v.Important certainly but also the ability to integrate with
a 'normal' household (eg by NOT requiring you to replace your existing light
switches for local control)  is, IMO, important to grow the market to
newbies entering the HA arena....

AIUI, that is not possible....period! You need momentary to do dimming and,
whilst it does work with normal switches, it's none too clever.

IMO, you have no chance! ;)
