Pedro, it was easier than i thought once i checked out how 'tar' works. Simply, tar -tvf receiver.arf (to list files) tar -xvf receiver.arf ./etc/streams.cfg (to extract etc/streams.cfg) tar -dvf receiver.arf ./etc/streams.cfg (to delete old streams.cfg) tar -rvf receiver.arf ./etc/streams.cfg (to add the streams.cfg file back after you have modified the stations list) Have to test it when i get home. bill
