The only problem being that they are not colour and with a PPC you get
things like a browser and email client etc

If your lights etc are computer controlled, you could just use Girder or
such to change you IR from the pronto to fire up apps, change settings
etc......

I've always though a Pronto would make an excellent wall mounted
touchscreen, just needs someone to create the software for it.  It's a
backlit touchscreen of a decent size, with buit in IR tx and rx and a
RS232 interface!
