Re: HV MULTIZONE IR UPDATE

Hi Ian
Thanks ,yes things are progressing slowly . My friend is doing the pcb so hopefully he,ll get it right first go...

I do have CRO  but find it hard to sync it on the signal . A storage CRO would be nice. Ive tried saving 2 copies of each button most appear to work but not reliable enough , the power button gets detected by hv as the mute button . Ive relearned several times still no luck . Im sure  someone else must have learned Rc5 codes.......

Hi Frank

Good to hear things are progressing. PCB design is very time consuming!!

Do you have the facility to measure the signal being sent to see what affect the toggle bit in RC5 has. It may just be that some brains needs adding because of this in the programming.

Hi All
Just a quick update on  my multizone rx/tx unit progress . The pcb design is currently about 50% done and im hoping tomorrow we will get if finished . Today i built and an currently testing a 16 way zone splitter as requested by Andy Powell . Andy wants to use Zone 8 as a global zone ,so he can send global messages ie All Kit OFF type stuff . It appears to work ok . The global idea is good if say all vcr,s are same make model and same for dvd,s etc . The transmission time is shortened considerably . It does require two ir leds per zone (local zone and global zone ).
Im having some trouble with my LG Tv  which i believe uses RC5 format any ideas welcomed .......
