RE: Recessed lights in an attic room ?

Mains voltage halogens - definitely not.

12v halogens intended for outdoor use, with the transformers mounted somewhere "guaranteed dry" and only the LV cable run in the "wet areas" - that's what I'd do.

As an aside, you may find that you need some barrier to meet building regs anyway, though.

Can anyone with more electrical know how than me answer me a question ?
I've just completely ripped off the old Lath&Plaster ceilings in our
attic rooms.. yuck.. still coughing..

After replacing with plasterboard I was thinking about using recessed
lights (Halogen?) but am concerned that the rear of the lights and
hence electrical connections are potentially able to get wet etc if I
have a leak in the roof. There is no felt or barrier only the slates.

Anyone know if this is feasible or advisable ?

Marcus
