2 points - firstly - we imported an A class from Ireland over three years ago - saved over 5 grand - UK dealers were so arrogant, did not give a penn= y
discount, and low p/ex values.However, we really should have gone for the Golf - we've had Mercs before and I still have an E Class, but the A Class<= BR> is so rattly and plasticky. The ride is bumpy despite Mercedes doing work with the suspension and the glove box fell off so may times we've just left=
it off now. Anyone who asks I recommend the Golf (unless you want to buy mine T Reg, 30000 miles FMBSH, Silver A140 Classic :-)

Secondly I just bought a new RAV4 with my father in law at the weekend.
Motorpoint is very close to me and their car was =A33000 cheaper on the fac= e
of it. However they add =A3250 Documentation fee (!!!!!!!!!) and the car ha= d
been pre-registered, and it was not full UK spec - it needed an alarm =A340= 0
and who knows what else. Also only came with 2 year warranty. We used the low base price from Motorpoint to negotiate with the Toyota dealer who then=
gave us 8% discount (after MUCH haggling - dont give up is my motto).
Difference was then only =A3900 and we had a choice of colour, the car had = no
pre-registered owners, and full 3 year warranty. The resale value will be much higher as well.

Dont get me wrong imports can work - but make sure you compare like with like. UK dealers are getting better and you might need to shop around.
