Re: Classic Pronto vs ProntoNeo

I played with the 5200 and 9200 in the US a few months back - it's a good job
they were not cheap otherwise I would have purchased one. I'm keeping my
eye on the prices though :-) I found the 9200 way better than the Pronto Pro.

It seems that the guys in Philips and Marantz new product development are poles apart!

The guys at Marantz seem to sit down and think “what can we do to increase the appeal of this product?”

While the guys in Philips seem to think “what can we do to marginalize the product, so we have to sell it at a vastly over-inflated price in order to re-coop our development costs”

All you have to do is look at the Pronto-Pro and Pronto-Neo, and compare them with the RC-5200 which should hit the streets sometime in May.

I noticed that there only appears to be one pic of it there and, TBH, it looks pants IMO, cheap and nasty.
