Noooooo!

This is a pure scam and a known one at that!

I am involved in a few forums that specialise in security for this stuff and this does *not* work permanently. ;-)

What this does is put 9V DC across terminal 1 and 9 IIRC, of the telephone line to make the card “think” that it’s authenticating the call somehow and then the card store that info. When the limit is reached, again IIRC its £50, you can no longer order any Box Office events then, when you do plug the phone back in, all the info is sent to Sky and you get the bill!

This is seen in many forms, someone trying to sell the info and a box that plugs to the phone line out jack from your STB….steer clear and be warned!

There is also a company in France selling supposed dodgy cards for Sky as well, again pure scam it doesn’t work! There are people selling STB mods, again a scam!

The NDS Encryption system used by Sky has reportedly been cracked but I don’t have any details on that yet but it is often confused with Sky in South America, which has been hacked.

All good fun and for educational purposes only of course ;-)

K.

After disconnecting the phone line and getting box office movies, would a full system reset erase any box office info?  Doing a reset (through hidden menu) erases all my settings and recordings on my Sky+ box, so I wonder if it will erase the pay-per-view info as well?

I might give it a try.

From what I've read, this code temp. disables the dial-up authentication system, so you can watch pay-per-view events, movies, porn etc.

HOWEVER, once you hit the £50 limit this will stop working. At some point (poss. when the box is rebooted), the box will dial home, tell Mr. Murdoch what you've watched and that £50 will be on your next bill. The effect is exactly this same if you disconnect the box from the phoneline.

All you will have done is delay the bill by a few day/weeks/months, for about £9 looking at Ebay.

If you look hard on the net, you'll find the code for yourself. Funny but hardly much point...

Sky take their systems VERY seriously, they would rather spend millions protecting them, than lose millions to a bunch of hackers. Unlike, say, OnDigital/ITV Digital who picked a already broken system to protect their revenues.

Sky cannot and will probably not be cracked – so don’t even waste your money.  You’ll have to cough up for a subscription like the rest of us J

If you unplug your phone it will give you free box office movies be warned u’ll eventually get caught though cos u’ll have to plug it in sometime!

This guy reckons he can give you a code to type that gives free box office movies. Someone tell me this is a scam before I go wasting money....
