The 2200 APC unit I have has 8 IEC outlets ... I have a set of 6 way stripblocks mounted on the walls in my computer room with the feeds to them terminated in IEC plugs which just plug in the back of the UPS.

Load on the UPS averages at 18% for 2 x printers, 1 x Server, 1 x PC, Monitor, PC Speakers, KVM switch, 16 Port 10/100 Switch, ISDN Router, Print Server, Home Highway box, DAT drive, Film Scanner, Wireless LAN AP, Occupancy PIRs PSU

I used APC 700VA for Home Highway (+ PC and other stuff)  for 2 years without problems.
APC UPS is the only brand whose drivers come with Win 2000, so I never really bothered installing Powerchute.
Bear in mind that serial cable connecting UPS and PC is not "normal" serial cable, so if it's not long enough, you'll have to think about some solution.

Anyone using their UPS to power HomeVision, HomeHighway etc?

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks
