Well the mobo i'd go for is the Abit AT7
(http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/Online_Catalogue_AMD_Motherboards_68
.html), with a XP1800+ or better CPU.

I just ordered a combination of bits to make a base machine from
overclockers.co.uk and novatech.co.uk (for example, novatech had
cheaper
cases, and cheaper gfx cards, but overclockers where cheaper for the cpu
and
mobo)
