Might be worth trying a lens cleaner (disc with brushes on or blasting insides with an air duster (gently) Lens may be crudded up or out of alignment.

Used to be abled to get audio cd players realigned so may still be an option.

I have a samsung 709 dvd player that has been working fine for many months.  It even plays the Matrix.

Suddenly last week it stopped playing dvd's.  Anything I put in, (any region) it ejects saying that the disk could not be read.  I did a factory reset, still nothing.  I was about to throw it out when I put an audio cd in it and it worked fine.  I then tried a VCD and it couldnt read it.

I'm totally confused now.  Anyone out there seen anything like this?

Matthew
