Component Video fed into a Sync On Green capable monitor should display something but you wouldnt line it.

You could have to connect as follows

Cr-R
Y-G
Cb-B

Just guessing about the effect.....

SoG is expecting a Signal with a Green Picture and sync, from Component it would get a Monochorme picture (ie ALL the colours would have their brighness information in it).

The R & B pins are expecting Red and Blue pictures. Quite what they would make of the colour difference signals I dont know.

I would guess you would see a Green Screen version of a B&W picture possible with some wired red and blue patterning. I think you would be happier with the Composite output !

The whole paragraph above is largely irrelevant as monitors/TV's with SoG capability are less common than Component inputs.

NOOOOOOOOO!

Component video and RGB are quite different formats...

...they just happen to travel down the same spec of cable and have the
same electrical characteristics!

You cannot feed component into an RGB SCART and it work.
