Works
fine. I'm using W2K Server with RRAS. Took a little while to sort it out,
but
it's going now. You don't get any more speed, since the modem connection is
still the bottleneck, but it doesn't cost anything. You can also use it as
a
front end to your HA system by using your own web server. If you're using
it
primarily for your own web pages, it's easy to optimise them for the
STB.
Go for
it. It'll cost you next to nothing and it's another
gadget.

Sorry ....not original enough.
Someone already did that, I think it was Smorgo.

Just mulling things over and I "had an idea
(tm)". As I've got the PABX system working in the house now, could I run
a fresh extension line to a Bush box under the TV and stick a
spare
modem in the server (with another fresh line), as ther server has an
ADSL
connection and then hack the Bush box to internally dial into the
server?
Not sure what I'd have to do on the server software wise but
the net effect would be faster and free-er than dialing out of the
building???
Any
thoughts?
