Whoa guys this is way out of order!

Regardless of how strongly you feel about the Monarchy or why there
should or should not be one this is not the place for such a discussion.
Nor is it the place to discuss the validity of the arrangements for the
Queen Mother or the level of respect that should be granted to her
passing. That is a personal choice for each individual and will be based
on many factors that are personal and, IMO, best left that way.

This thread started as a simple question on what the meaning of a 41 gun
salute which, whilst off-topic and clearly marked as such, can in no way
be considered inflammatory, which this thread has become.

So please can we drop this forthwith?
