Re: E-bay followup

Patrick,

Sorry about your unfortunate experience with e-bay.  I suppose there will always be people who abuse the system and people's trust.  Yet, e-bay is excellent and is a good source for bargains.
On a similar note, I recently bought an ePods from a guy in New York.  He offered it for sale on the Internet Appliance BBS but then put it on e-bay after a day.  I contacted him and said that I'd pay his original asking price.  Even though it looked as though it may fetch a higher bid price, he cancelled the e-bay auction and said that I could buy it.  I agreed to pay for it through PayPal.  He shipped it and insured it at his own expense BEFORE I'd even sent payment!  When I received the ePods it was absolutely brand new - he hadn't used it - but he did the hack for me and the full CE shell upgrade!  We both trusted each other - I sent payment for something I hadn't seen  - he sent the ePods to someone he didn't know before receiving any money.
There are still some trustworthy people! :o)
