Some may remember that I had an unfortunate experience recently with
E-bay with a vendor who cashed my cheque and did a runner.
I turned cyber-sleuth, and put together enough pieces of the jigsaw
to set the perpetrator up for the fall... twice. Systematic fraud is
one term that might be used to describe 87 different E-bay identities
and a handful of different bank accounts. (I didn't discover _all_
those persona...). Dozens of others have fallen victim to the same
scam as I did by this guy. The first attempt to catch up with the con
sadly came a cropper because the bank branch he normally used was
closed for refurbishment. Anyway, all's well that ends well - today
the suspect was arrested and charged. The police also recovered a
shed load of damning evidence. Whilst I don't expect to see my cash
again, it's good to see justice done.
And sincere thanks to Kevin for his going out of his way "up
north"
to check out the address I'd been given.
Patrick
