Unfortunately the scratches are too deep to use a "chip away"
service to
fill and touch them in so it means a respray of the whole bumper. Metallic
paint complicates it somewhat as does the fact that it isn't just a case of
ripping off the panel - it has to be taken apart carefully. Two hours have
been allowed in the labour estimate for the "mechanical" side of
things.
What I don't understand is that the materials quote is 104 quid - its a big
bumper, but it aint that big!

I'll let them pay for the bumper, and I'll buy the Marantz myself - though
given the way global markets are moving at the moment, I might be in the
poor-house by the time it is released :-(
