Re: new storage devices

These are expected to be launched Nov-Dec

Prices are expected to be as follows

RC9200 Color    £700
RC5200 B&W    £350-400
RC3200 replacement for RC2000+    £150-£200

Hmm, tad expensive £350 for 2Mb B&W even though it does have lots of Hard buttons....

Be ashamed ... be very ashamed ... I have to admit that I *NEVER* just go take a look at AutomatedHome for news. I tend to depend on the group for getting notification of anything interesting. Usually if Mark posts up something on the News page he mails the group to let them know. Believe it or not I do very little actual web browsing!

I agree that it is probably based around a ProntoPro but there's more screen area for use which has to be a good thing and the cursor controls are a real bonus!

I'm just trying to work out VB or VC++ (I've done BASIC and C++ on other platforms but this MS Visual Studio stuff is just freaky when you're not used to it..) to start programming up an ePod as a Pronto-esque front end with HV doing the IR. (Hoping I can talk to ACE and get ACE to send the IR commands to HV or at least get ACE to tell HV to issue the IR commands.)

Phil Im ashamed of you :o)

Post by myself :o)

It IS a ProntoPro but modified, God knows how much it will be !

However Im more interested in the 2Mb B&W version as it's more likely to be reasonably priced, and it has the sameEXTRA hard buttons.

Has anyone seen the new Marantz remotes on www.remotecentral.com?

It looks like they're doing two - a colour and a monochrome model and they're not rebadged Prontos ... these look to have a proper hard cursor set! Plus it looks like they've had more screen area set aside for the user to make the most of.

Could be a serious challenge to Philips domination of the customiseable remote markets?
