Not quite - the maximum theoretical throughput of a given switch is
determined by the bandwidth of the switch backplane, the internal bus
which is used to route data between the switched ports.
(And in case anyone is wondering, broadcasts are not "switched",
but
are delivered to all ports on a switch regardless - so DHCP still
works :-)
