OK.

So some of the stuff has been out for a while.... but it was news to me.

As to the disappearing devices.... the problem is that when an A/D
converter
or a Temperature Sensor required a PCB of Eurocard proportions and dozens
of
components to make it work, you couldnt loose one that easily. Now they are
little black blobs with a few legs or worse still a little surface mount
speck of plastic, you cant see them on the bench, never mind finding them
when you "misplace" them !!!

I have the same, though I think there must be some 1-wire device gnomes
somewhere because they are all missing, along with 10 DS18B20's
