I got my house (3 bed, 3 rec med size built in 1933) rewired at the start
of
the year. £2500 in total. I got all the lights wired to LD11 in two
locations plus about 10 CAT5 runs and 10 Co-ax runs to node 0 in the attic.
I wired for the alarm stuff myself. I bought the LD11 myself but all other
stuff was in the price.
Hope this helps as £8,000 sounds like a lot to me.
