M

He is an idea for lowering the volumes on any specific list but keeping
everyone up to date.

As far as I can see the mails are divided into three broad categories

HA Stuff - including computer related HA Stuff like Showshifter, Homeseer
etc.
Specific Windows stuff - setting up W2k etc - this is going to increase
with XP now out
General OT stuff

Perhaps the best approach is post the first mail for any topic on the main
list and ask for responses on either the main, computer or OT lists. That
way everyone gets to see if they are interested without having to wade
through all the mails on a particular thread.

Steve

I've just had an email from a long time member of the mailing list on the
old chestnut of off topic posts.=A0 I know this is an old one but I do
agre=
e
with him.=A0 For the many of us these post aren't a problem.=A0 For=A0
oth=
ers
however, they are.=A0 A couple of weeks ago a guy that runs a well know
H=
A
business in the UK unsubscribed too, stating it had got to much for him.

Anyone just joining the group must wonder if it's on HA or if they've
mistakenly joined a Windows support group.=A0 And I'm not pointing the
finger at anyone here...I'm as guilty as anyone.

So...what do we do?

There are probably no more than around 50 of us that use the list for
"chat" and OT stuff.=A0 Would those member mind if I added them
to a
separate chat list?

Comments appreciated.

Many thanks

M.
