Hi Brian

All hyperterminal lets you do is send and receive info directly to
the comm port.

Normally if you are getting garbage on the screen this would indicate
that the baud rate is incorrect.

I do not have any tech. details of the meteor. Does it send out any
data when it is powered up ?
If so you could keep adjusting the baud rate setting in Hyperterm
then cycle the power to the meteor until you correctly see the start
up data.

If you have a url that lets me see the Tech info for the Meteor I'll
have a look to see if I can sugest any other tests to do from
hyperterm.
