I have requested literature on the Alps range from Roxburgh. I should be
able to get some idea of pricing then. The Hall Effect devices would be
more
expensive than simple contact types but will have very high reliability and
should not suffer from contact bounce which is a problem with cheap
encoders. Can be overcome in the software though.

What, no gif! Enjoyed the japanese.
Just enough tech spec to wet the appetite, looks like a winner. Hall
effect makes life easier & suggests good reliability. Any pricing
indication?
