Thanks for that Steve, My father gave me much the same advice so I went for the extended 3 yr warranty for £109. Knocked them down £30 on that so hopefully should be ok.

Michael,

personally I wouldn't buy an ex display TV from curry's or any other big retailer - they have been turned on almost continuously for several months or more - curry's are generally open 9-9 mon to Friday, and sat and Sunday. Life expectancy after the initial 1 years warranty may be an issue? Cosmetic damage to the chassis or perhaps the screen.  If it's ex display is probably an older model that has now been superseded. Another bad point - no remote(not a real problem if you are going to use pronto anyway), or documentation.

Just my opinion - did allot of looking around 4-5 months ago for widescreen tv's.

My TV died last night and I need one for tomorrow. FA cup etc.
I have rang round suppliers to see what the have in stock around 32"
Widescreen. The best deal seems to be a Philips 32DW6834 for £673. This is a
Manager Special (Display Model). This normally retails around £1200 or so.
The question is; Should I worry about it being Ex-Display?? Bought from
Currys?
