Correct about the 300m. You can get a 1-wire hub that some guy is building,
details are on the 1-wire weather mailing list. Some people put them inside
a RJ11 in-line coupler which seems to make sense. Personally my soldering
skills are horrendous and you would laugh at the way I have soldered my
DS1820 :-) But it works ok and no-one can see it.
