You could try disassembling a normal pull switch. Most decent ones are held
together by screws.

There is a latching cam type arrangement inside which locks the switch in
one of two positions. By careful jiggery-pokery with a file it should be
possible to completely knacker^H^H^H^H^H^H^H modify or jam the cam so that
it always reverts to one position. That way a pull on the switch would
operate the contact but releasing the cord would revert to the off
position.

Dont do this with your existing switch...yet... coz wifey will be upset if
you dont have lights!!

Does anyone know of a cord operated momentary switch for use with LD11 or
similar for any bathroom X-10 setup? It is after all a legal requirement
that there is no mains + switch + wet hands connection. Tried fizzing Wifey
once already and it did not go down well but that is another not too
unhappy
a story.
