When I fitted mine I disconnected the outside unit, then measured the ACTUAL size of the opening required to pass the umbilical through the wall... marked out a 4x3 cm opening & used a drill to go through both brick walls.  Drilled about 14 of the holes, then used a lump hammer & chisel to take out the bit of brick in the middle.  I did get asked by my neighbour if I wanted any help (had my arm stuck through the small opening trying to fish out one of the bits of brick, while 15' up a ladder).

8CM is a whopping hole (no carry-on jokes please ;-)) Can the drill / bit needed to to that be hired?

Do you have a stock number or something for the split aircon (maybe on the reciept??)

How big a hole is required for the pipe between the units?
