The
8cm hole is required if you want to pass the detached pipe through a wall.
The
other option is to leave the pipe connected and chop out a small rectangle
(55x25mm) from your window frame (that's what I will do). I have never
heard of an 8cm drill bit or a drill capable of driving it so I would
assume it
is a hammer and chisel job (i.e. knock out a few bricks and then make good
afterwards) if you want to go through a wall.
