I had a Transit for 13 years and it broke my heart when it was scrapped. I
sold it to someone who wanted it for a Van race at the local Stock Car
track. i didnt have the heart to go there and watch it get all smashed up
:-(

Shortly after I went to homebase and bought a load of wood. Came outside
and
suddenly I was hit by a realisation.......How the F*** does this fit into
an
Escort !!!!

Had to borrow a saw to cut some down to size to get it in the car, with the
van I could buy what I wanted when i wanted it and just chuck it in the
back.

Go for it Keith, I was offered a company car but after quite a few months
of
haggling the company agreed to buy me a 2.5ltr TDI Intercooler VW
Transporter SWB van, and I love it! never have liked cars, cannot get
either
my Recumbent push bike in one or my large helicopters! and you can sleep in
it.

Modern vans have come a long way in the last few years, at 80mph I can
still
hold a conversation in the thing, also has electric windows, electric
mirrors etc, and it does about 35mpg, luvly.

I remember a few years ago there was a top fashion designer who died and he
always drove a van and he was rich, so I'm told.
