On the subject of "bargains" I wonder whether anyone has any info
on this.
On the way home tonight I stopped in at my local Tempo, whilst there I saw
a
nice ultra-slim Compaq Armada M300. PIII 500Mhz, 128Mb RAM, 56k Internal
Modem etc. £899 + £100 for the docking station which has CDROM and floppy
bays giving £999 in total.
Checked up on the web tonight and Compaq have £2,275 as the price for the
M300, the closest that anyone like Insight had to it's spec was £1,950. The
only difference that I can tell between the Tempo machine and the Insight
one is that the Tempo machine has a mini PCI modem card fitted whilst the
Insight machine has a mini PCI modem + 10/100 lan card.
Tempo will do the damn thing on their 12 months interest free credit thing
so does anyone have any idea why the damn thing is so cheap!
Anyone know where I can get a mini PCI modem + 10/100 LAN card from and how
much they're likely to be?
Phil
