PANASONIC TO BRING DVD RECORDER TO THE UK
Panasonic looks set to bring its latest DVD-RAM video recorder to UK shores
later this year, as the market for recordable DVD begins, albeit slowly, to
gain momentum. The DMR-E20, the successor to Panasonic's debut DMR-E10 DVD
video recorder, will record using re-writable DVD-RAM and write-once DVD-R
technology. The recorder is expected to be able to record around 12 hours
worth of normal quality video on one 9.4GB DVD-RAM disc, although these
recordings can only be viewed on a DVD-RAM compatible DVD player or DVD-ROM
drive. The DMR-E20 is expected to carry a retail price of around 1300 UKP
when it launches here later in the year.
