Video Distrib question...
Okay, the AV cabling is almost finished, and I am plugging in devices.
At Node Zero, I have a 5 Way SCART Splitter, and I am using SCART-Phono
Cables to inject a two video/audio signals one plugged into "Video
IN" one
into "Video OUT". At the bottom end, I use a SCART-3 Phono cable
to lift the
appropriate Channel ("IN" or "OUT") into the video
switch/TV/Amp whatever.
One thing I am noticing is that as I connect more devices onto this
"bus",
(by plugging further SCART leads into the splitter) I see the colour at all
points becoming more and more washed out.
I am not surprised, I suppose, but one thing that *does* surprise me, is
that just connecting the SCART cable onto the bus makes the colour fade,
the
other end doesn't have to even have anything plugged into it.
Now, this seems to ring a couple of (rusty) bells.. is it parasitic
capacitance changing the impedance of the system? how do I deal with this?
do I need to get a Video Distrib amp?
Ian.
