Been reliable. Ours is permenently fixed in
the
vehicle all you see is a 4 way socket strip. We fitted the inverter behind
a
panel in the boot. The inverter is hooked up to an auxilary battery which
is
connected t the vehicle battery via a split charge relay. With fuses etc
and
also added extra 12v cigar type sockets.
Just remeber the currents involved and wire
accordingly!

Probably LOADS cheaper than M***** or you get
more power for your dosh.
I have used loads on BK Electronics Mosfet amps
and they are extremely rugged and well build so I expect the inverters t
be t the same standard.

OK ... I have a 12v - 240v invertor on order from Maplin but not
expected before Sept 1st ... was wondering if anyone on the group might
have one that they could loan me for a couple of weeks so I can try
hooking up the Sony Streetmate before I have to make a decision on
buying one for myself - they're getting very difficult t find
nowadays!
