Thanks Phil, I'll have a look at the modulator as suggested, but why would
this affect only one disc and not the other.. The first one I watched was
perfect, its only the second I had a problem with ?

I would agree with your points about the dealer, but to be honest, while
not knowing much about tv/audio myself, once I talk to most dealers near
where I live, and try to explain my set up, they give you a blank stare,
stutter for a second and then feed you some waffle which you know is
absoulte s*£t. I think my problem now, is I only have the option of rf
distribution as this is the wya I have wired the house. We only moved in
last week, so if I go to start running extra cabling, swmbo will be most
unhappy.

Regards,
Eamon

Try a standalone UHF modulator - definitely available from Keene
Electronics.

The macrovision from the DVD player is upsetting the auto level control on
the VCR which is what you're seeing. A standalone modulator will not suffer
this problem ... if you have any more questions about where to get one and
what to get then feel free to contact me.

Can I also suggest that you consider whether your dealer is giving you good
service? Any dealer that recommends RF for distribution and doesn't know
aout macrovision screwing about with VCR auto level controls really should
not be in business! I know you say that you can't tell the difference
between RF and other forms of distribution (Composite / S-Video etc.) but
I've not seen anyone not be able t tell the difference when it's been
demonstrated properly. RF is *MOST DEFINITELY* the lowest common
denominator.

Cheers

Phil
