I assume you are thinking of building your own, I've been very impressed
with the Drapeboss units I bought from smarthome.com. They respond t
discrete open closed commands via an x10 module, and the speed is
adjustable. They don't need a special curtain track, as long as it is
fairly
good quality. You simply cut a length out of the pull cord and replace it
with chain which sits in a pulley controlled by a stepper motor. Speed is
adjustable either to cope with heavier curtains, or t  synchronise all the
curtains in one room.
