When I added an extra 40GB HDD to my desktop machine a year or so ago I had to upgrade the BIOS before it would recognise the drive properly (I only had 8GB in it before). I would guess that BIOSes can probably handle any size up to the maximum available, but you may have to make sure that you have the latest version.

machine which can't take any more than 8Gb and three that have a 32Gb limit
(all limitations of the BIOS) ... I'm building another PC at the moment and
I was just wondering if anyone knew what size IDE drives the current BIOS's
support?
