I've been looking at putting Linux on an old 486 of mine recently. However,
looking at the hardware requirements on the boxes, the versions compatible
with 486's often seem to be accompanied with the phrase "VLB machines
can be
problematic".
Guess what? My 486 is an Elonex Vesa Local Bus machine, with the standard
VLB graphics card. Has anyone any practical experience of running Linux on
such a machine? If so, does it work, or what?
Cheers,
Steve

Yes, I run my home brewed home automation system on a
486 with 20M RAM running RedHat 6.2.
