Hi,

I'm planning to move into a new flat in a few months and am thinking about putting in some X10 stuff, but I wanted to have a play round with it first to see what it's capable of. I am planning to set up some sort of almost completely computer controlled system and I have a few questions I wonder if someone might be able to answer:

1. Is the CM12U the best (only?) way to send/receive X10 commands from a PC?

2. I'm thinking about coding something in VB to control everything via the Homeseer ActiveX control. Are there any obvious known problems with this set-up? I'm quite happy to have an old PC running 24/7.

3. If I use a wireless remote can I pick up commands on the PC (to keep up-to-date status information)?

Sorry if these questions seem a bit odd, but if I'm going to spend some money (always something to try and avoid ;-)) I'd like to know.

Thanks in advance,

Oliver.
