Are you sure? There's a setting on the server software (something
like 'enable autoconfiguration') that specifies a range of addresses
that receivers can use. It was turned off when mine wouldn't work,
but there was another DHCP server running. When I turned it on, by
default it stole half of 192.168.0.* It presumably got that from the
IP settings of the PC I installed it on. I've subsequently reduced
the range available and excluded them on the 'proper' dhcp server.
I'm not the worlds greatest IP expert, so I might be misinterpreting
something, but this seem a bit naughty to me (ignoring DHCP running
on the network and stealing addresses from it).
ALSO, if I am right, what's the point of having an autoconfigure that
you can turn off, but that stops it from working?
